Ekens Foundation: Microfinance for small-scale businesses in rural areas.

My name is Ekens Azubuike. As the founder and president of the Ekens Foundation and Ekens and Hellas Humanitarian Foundation, it has been my passion to assist the less privileged, widows, refugees, and asylum seekers based on my firsthand experience with systemic oppression. My goal is to change the lives of the less privileged, widows, refugees, and asylum seekers in the rural areas around the globe and to respond in realtime on humanitarian responses.
In March 2019, we launched the Ekens Foundation Microfunding Program for rural women entrepreneurs.
As the founder and president of Ekens Foundation International (EFI) Canada, known as Ekens Foundation, and Ekens and Hellas Humanitarian Foundation, Nigeria, West Africa.
The Ekens Foundation empowerment program is a kind of micro-funding program for small-scale businesses in rural areas, mainly for petty businesses. The microfunding is intended to be repaid by installment without a time limit or interest. The purpose is to encourage the Ekens Foundation to continue helping others in need by reinvesting the money in other less privileged people in need of our assistance.
CONDITION AND CRITERIA:
To qualify for these microfunding programs, the applicant must be a widow, a refugee, or a confirmed less privileged person.
To qualify for the program, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
(1) You must live in a rural area in any part of the African continent, locally. (2) You must hold a valid bank account in any reputable bank in your local area; for Nigerian applicants, you must hold a valid bank account in Zenith Bank Nigeria PLC.
3) You presently do not have any source of income. This is to enable us to reach those actually in need of our assistance.
(4) You must present your microfunding application in writing addressed to Ekens Foundation International. The application must be typed and emailed to info@ekensfoundation.com.
(5) Note: The Ekens Foundation would reimburse you for any money you spent in preparing your application, such as photocopies, transportation, and typing. (6) You must submit your application with clear, genuine details of your intended proposed petty business in your rural area.
(6) The application must be accompanied by a recommendation letter from your traditional ruler, and court affidavits identifying the grounds of your application, as a widow or refugee or ordinarily less privileged person, and someone without any source of income
(7) The letter mentions that the identification letter is to support your application for the Ekens Foundation micro-funding.
(8) The intended petty business in the rural area must not exceed N50,000 or N100,000.00, equivalent to $150.00 to $300.00 United States dollars per applicant for a startup.
(9) Our goal is to empower up to 200 less privileged people every year. Details: Any applicant who complies with the rules of our programs will be enrolled and upgraded to the next level of our funding program.
