This question is appropriate to address the lack of transparency in Canadian immigration, which led to a conspiracy against Ekens Azubuike following the deployment of unprofessional investigative journalism by news outlets known as La Presse Canada.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!La Presse Canada has faced criticism for its handling of the story, raising concerns about the accuracy and fairness of its reporting. As a result, the incident highlights broader issues regarding the equitable treatment of immigrants in Canada and the need for reforms to ensure that all individuals can access justice and transparency within the immigration system.
According to Mr. Ekens Azubuike, the founder of Ekens Foundation International, during the interview, in response to the defamation and slander lawsuit he filed against Copart Canada Inc. and Copart Montreal Inc., he stated that La Presse Canada, whose business activities were situated in the downtown Montreal courthouse, is known for publishing false articles without proper investigative journalism, especially in this particular case, where they were hired by Copart Canada Inc. to use him as a scapegoat to cover up their white-collar insurance crime.
He stated that this started in December 2019 when he confronted Montreal Police after he learned that police in Montreal were at the shipping yard, impounding all his vehicles, which he purchased in good faith from a third party who bought those vehicles from Copart Canada Inc.
Mr. Azubuke maintained his innocence in all false accusations, and they are still hoping to clear his name through the appeal court, which is pending at the time of this interview. He cited several instances of false publications that La Presse has reported. He expressed his frustration over the negative impact these articles had on his reputation and livelihood, emphasizing that he has always operated within the law. Mr. Azubuke remains hopeful that the truth will prevail as his case progresses through the legal system.
False ICJ Quote Regarding Israel: In early 2024, a commentator for La Presse, Marco Veilleux, published a column that falsely claimed the International Court of Justice (ICJ) had “recognized ‘a plausible claim of genocide'” against Israel. This was explicitly refuted by the then-president of the ICJ, Joan Donoghue, who stated the court did not decide that the claim of genocide was plausible. HonestReporting Canada was among the organizations that highlighted this falsehood.
False Claim about Israel and COVID-19 Vaccine: In January 2021, La Presse published an article by Isabelle Hachey that falsely claimed Israel had denied Palestinians the COVID-19 vaccine. HonestReporting Canada again countered this, stating there was no foundation to the claim and that, per the Oslo Accords, the Palestinian Authority is responsible for administering healthcare to Palestinians.
Journalist Fabricated Stories: In 2015, Montreal journalist François Bugingo, who had reported for various outlets including La Presse, admitted to fabricating numerous stories throughout his career. This came to light after an exposé by La Presse itself. Bugingo admitted to “errors in judgment” and making up events, including an execution and involvement in a hostage negotiation.
The decision of appeal from the Quebec Superior Court on David J. 2022 QCCS 881, 2022 AZ-51837472, J.Q., #1780 QL 2022 CarswellQue 4621 WL, dismissing a motion by La Presse Inc. to lift orders prohibiting broadcasting and transmission about Voir. You will also recall that sometimes in 2021
This led to many media outlets cutting ties with him. He stated that La Presse in Canada is known for being an unserious news agency, reporting unimportant issues and the shallowly inaccurate and unfair publications that endanger individuals’ rights, with misinformed articles based on hypotheses with no probable cause, only to increase sales.
These instances highlight the manipulation practices of journalism, like La Presse’s face, in maintaining accuracy and the importance of fact-checking and accountability, leading to another falsehood publication by La Presse employees, namely Louis Samuel Perron, and his sensationalized reporting that often prioritizes clickbait over responsible journalism. This trend not only undermines the credibility of the news agency but also erodes public trust in media as a whole, emphasizing the urgent need for ethical standards and rigorous editorial oversight.
These cheap La Presse reporters are running around for cheap political favors across Canada, engaging in defamation, slander, and malice towards unprofessional journalism, and exploiting individuals’ images to serve colonists in bad faith. Mr. Ekens Azubuike stated this in Montreal on 25 May 2025, exactly one year after La Presse Canada intentionally tried to damage his image by publishing for-sale information against him.
Ekens Azubuike, during an interview with news outlets in Montreal on December 5, 2024, regarding his application for leave to appeal a decision of the Supreme Court of Quebec rendered by the Honorable Justice James L. Brumpton (J.S.C.) on May 29, 2024, an appeal that was granted by the Quebec Court of Appeal under the authority of the following three-judge panel.
The Honourable Francois Doyon, J.A.
The Honorable Suzanne Gagne, J.A.
The Honourable Frédéric Bachand, J.A.
The said leave to appeal was granted on November 15, 2024, mainly on the grounds of serious errors of fact and law and the lack of inherent jurisdiction of the Quebec court to prosecute the matter.
lack of neutrality and bias of the first instance court, which was presided over by Justice James L. Brampton (J.S.S.) of the Quebec Superior Court.
Admission of admissible evidence, which is self-serving, and the non-circumstantial evidence that was omitted by Copart Canada Inc. This omission significantly impacted the fairness of the trial and the overall integrity of the judicial process. However, Azubuike is hopeful that the appeal court will emphasize the need for a thorough reevaluation of the evidence presented, as well as the importance of impartiality in judicial proceedings.
Police error in the investigation about tunnel vision, stereotypes, and criminalization. Criminalization often leads to biased perceptions that can cloud judgment, making it imperative for courts to recognize and address these systemic issues. Azubuike’s appeal seeks not only justice for himself but also accountability for the practices that undermine the principles of fairness and equity in the legal system.
Ekens Azubuike stated that these folks, Louis Samuel Perron and Vincent Larouche, were purposely employed by La Presse to engage in what is called yellow journalism for the purpose of increasing sales by reporting misinformation and damaging the reputation of individuals instead of engaging in proper investigative journalism.
Mr. Ekens Azubuike disclosed that. Regardless, La Presse does not engage in independent journalism; rather, it is an organization that is being influenced by local radical conservative colonist politicians to attack opponents on the catastrophic consequences of irresponsible journalism.
He said. I sued La Presse Canada Inc. for $1.5 million for information slander in malice, following their publication against me in the false allegation case pursued by the Canada Border Service Agency, on which they colluded with Copart Canada Inc., the car insurance entity that engages in massive international insurance fraud.
You may recall that this case was dismissed by the Quebec court due to a delay in setting the hearing date. It is important to know that this case was not dismissed on merit but based on procedural error or delay before the civil rejoinder to Copart Canada Inc., after La Presse Canada repeated a similar publication for the second time.
In addition, Mr. Ekens Azubuike disclosed that the organization La Press Inc. is a racist organization that is focused on damaging the image of the Black communities by serving their colonists with their hate on immigrants without considering the effects of their actions of defamation with their network.
He added that this proclaimed unworthy news agency went as far as editing my photo with Photoshop, and this demonstrated how far they can go in damaging individuals’ images.
They do not respect the fact that journalists shall have due regard for the dignity, privacy, and integrity of all individuals. creating conflicts of interest, perceived and real, and compromising the integrity of journalism by damaging the reputation of individuals.
When questioned, Mr. Azubuke said, Why does he believe that La Presse could engage in publishing information against him?
He stated that it’s part of the conspiracy with the Canada Border Services Agency in an effort to tarnish his image and again get a minimum of six months’ conviction against him to justify his removal from Canada. In an ongoing, lifelong fight between him and the Canada Border Services Agency.
He added that under the circumstances, there is no justification to remove him from Canada other than using the system to impose on him a criminal record, which the authority has been fighting to do for more than a decade form of reprisal action.
After Ekens Azubuike said that the lack of equity and reform of criminal justice in Canada has resulted in many incarcerations of Black folks across Canadian prisons. This includes a lack of political will to overhaul the judicial system.
